An incredibly beautiful house
Decor and furnishings were tip top and beautiful.
So many gorgeous places to sit outside - to read, to eat, to snooze!
The little pool was a glorious relief from the heat of the day….
It’s a good walk to and from gaios, quite steep in places, but we thoroughly enjoyed the reward of excellent coffee and juice each morning when we got there!
Gaios is beautiful with loads of amenities- bakeries, butchers, supermarkets.
The local support team of Adam and Keith were flawless, as was the lovely Leonora who cleaned part way through our stay.
Joanne has created a stylish and comfortable home away from home and we loved it!
Thank you Joanne!
Having a lovely time!
We’ve been having a lovely time on Paxos, and at the house, thank you. It is a lovely place!
Have very much enjoyed the views from the house.
Thank you for all your help and super information about the house and island.
StoneHouse Delight
We had such a beautiful 6 days at Paxos StoneHouse.
The house is stocked with everything you need, has exquisite views over the sea and peaceful bedrooms with very comfy beds and pillows.
Our host was extremely helpful and attentive.
The location is perfect.
We did not want to leave.
No dissappointments
I thought the accomodation delivered everything we expected.
The location is also great - 5 minute scooter ride from the main town where all the action is (like if you need to go to the supermarket etc.).
Although no view of the sea - it never mattered - the olive trees are just as nice.
Beaches are also very close.
Cool retreat from the busy town below!
This is a wonderful house and a happy and cool retreat from the busy town below.
Well hosted, well equipped with everything from beach towels to decent kitchen knives, lovely linen and fresh herbs in the garden.
It felt like a luxury retreat and a welcoming home all in one.
A wonderful place to stay!
A stunning house, beautifully renovated, on the most perfect island.
The house has everything you could need.. the decor is stylish and it was spotless.
Joanne went out of her way to help us and couldn’t have been more helpful and kind.
I thoroughly recommend PaxosStoneHouse for a truly relaxing holiday.
Don't hesitate. Just book!
From all the help that Joanne gave us before our trip with sea transfers, taxi's, restaurant bookings, boat hire and car hire, to the warm welcome from Adam and Keith when we arrived - our holiday at Paxos StoneHouse was one of our best yet.
The villa is stunningly decorated, super clean and really well equipped.
It is a short (but steep!) drive from Gaios which is very useful when you want to go out in the evenings, and as Paxos is so small we found the villa is brilliantly located to get anywhere on the island in a max of 15 mins.
I did a post on everywhere we went at @theclevertraveller if it is of interest, and we can't thank Joanne enough for helping us have a truly memorable holiday - thank you!
We will be back! x
A charming combination of old and new
The house combines the charm of the old (lots of nice details) with a quality renovation with good amenities.
In a quiet environment amid olive trees with a beautiful panorama and sea views in the distance.
The garden benefits from several spaces to eat, have an aperitif, swim, read, and play a game of pétanque.
The swimming pool is a real plus.
The most impressive is the island of Paxos; the landscapes are magnificent, both on the seaside and on the land side, the island is preserved from mass tourism, everything is beautiful, the villages are authentic, the tavernas are good and welcoming (without the need to book for the most part). It's a relaxing and easy destination (bring a car).
Communication with Joanne is very fluid and the very detailed guide she makes available is full of good advice.
Must do: Antipaxos, day by boat, Ben's bar. We traveled a lot in Greece and Paxos is a real favorite!
Comfort and Bliss. Loved every moment
Beautiful house, kitchen had everything we needed and more, super comfy beds and pillows, a cool and quiet oasis during peak-summer heatwave.
Separate ensuite downstairs meant my parents had their own private area but were fully integrated with us.
Perfect. Honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing.
One thing to note is that the road to the house is very steep and I recommend getting an automatic car.
A beautiful villa in a quiet setting, overlooking Paxos
A beautiful villa in a quiet setting.
The attention to detail in this "home from home" makes for a special visit.
Joanne is a superb host and makes the stay so much more effortless. Her recommendations also made a huge difference to the quality of our holiday.
I would highly recommend this villa.
Paxos is a beautiful place to visit.
Home from a lovely first visit to Paxos!
We are just home from a lovely first visit to Paxos.
Joanne couldn’t have been more helpful and kind so a big thank you!
I would definitely say a car is a necessity but there are lovely beaches and restaurants all pretty close by.
A visit to Anti Paxos is a must, the beaches are heavenly:)
Definitely recommend - you will not be disappointed!
A beautiful Oasis!
We have been hearing about this villa for a few years now and it exceeded our expectations.
We really wanted to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings and we certainly managed to do that.
Absolutely beautiful location and the Villa itself is a little gem. It was like being in paradise with everything you needed. Spacious, super clean with everything to hand. Really well thought out with breathtaking views.
We were two couples celebrating our impending 50th birthdays. We are super fussy about where we stay and we would definitely return and certainly hope to do so.
You have glorious views from the various outside seating areas. You have a plunge pool, outdoor fresco dining as well as an outdoor barbecue pit.
There is a separate studio which would benefit from its own coffee machine and couple of chairs, but apart from that everything was absolutely perfect.
Well done to the host.
Another great stay at the beautiful Paxos Stonehouse!
We just got back from another lovely trip to Paxos, staying at the beautiful Paxos Stonehouse.
The house is set in a lovely location with sea views, it is furnished so nicely, very modern and stylish.
This is our 4th stay and we always find it very comfortable and ideal for getting to Gaios, which is 3 mins drive away, or 30 mins walk.
Joanne is a great host, really good comms and lots of helpful hints and tips for things to do and see on the island, as well as places to eat, car hire, boat hire, info on crossings from Corfu, etc. She makes the whole thing so easy!
This place is highly recommended
Charming villa, definitively worth a stay
A charming villa with everything you need for the perfect holiday escape.
Joanne was the most amazing host and so attentive - from the meet and greet, to the food recommendations through to tips and advice to ensure we experienced the best of the island!
A little piece of paradise - I truly had the most amazing stay and will definitely be back :)
Book Paxos Stone House for your next Holiday!
Lots of small things add up to one of the most memorable experiences!
An introduction to Stefanos at Fougaros Rentals, a wonderful car hire company and excellent directions to the PSH meant arriving at PSH with ease.
PSH is a bit off the beaten track and the upgraded house pays tribute to the island’s heritage and surrounds.
PSH itself is clean and fully equipped with everything you need and more. Cute frames explain the water and general info around the house. A cold beer in the fridge and tea for hubby. A good night’s rest on comfortable beds. The pool was perfect for the hot days! And sun loungers to watch the sunset or a cosy nook to catch up on a book.
My high school friend joined us from the UK. As South Africans' we loved that we could have a good old braai on the deck. Mozzie lights are provided.
Joanne, our host provided us with so many great recommendations from Coffee at Deep Blue (Gaios) and Roxy’s (Laggos) to multiple dinner stops and the general requirements superette, bakery (Fournos), wine shops and where to get fresh fish!
Walking to the arch is a must! Sunset at the Garage at Emiritis is a must and the cocktails are good!
I would recommend: Thelasa Tours – Boat Cruise – more than we bargained for – a trip around the island including Antipaxos, multiple swim stops and lunch. Snorkel Safari with Angelos – Lakka Paxos Scuba – another great experience.
I’ve typed this while looking for tickets for Greece 2024!
Paxos Stone House is good for the soul!
Paxos Stone House is an idyllic retreat on the top of a hill above Gaios. It has been gently renovated in the style of the island and offers an incredible place to exhale and slow down. It is a home away from home with all the conveniences you need, in a picturesque setting. We had the most wonderful time there and will be back for sure!
Perfect Property
This is the perfect property for family and / or friends to enjoy Paxos.
The beautiful house is tucked away in the hills just a short drive from the local amenities and hotspots further afield.
Thoughtfully set up and laid out with an emphasis on making the most of what Paxos has to offer.
The host, facilities and location made for a perfect relaxing holiday.
Paxos StoneHouse leaves no stone left unturned and I would thoroughly recommend.
Perfect Paxos StoneHouse
We were lucky enough to visit Paxos and Paxos Stonehouse recently with family and friends.
It far outweighed our expectations.
Absolurely gorgeous stone villa decorated beautifully in a very peaceful area that is close enough to town.
I would recommend hiring scooters or quad bikes to explore the island's many stunning beaches, restaurants and bars..such fun !!.
Joanne is a superb host who goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy the island of Paxos and Paxos Stonehouse ad much as she does.
Definitely hope to return.
What a beautiful little villa! Very peaceful and great views!
The Paxos StoneHouse is a stunning little villa. Set in a very quiet spot amongst peaceful olive groves, (up a very steep track) . Stunning views out to sea.
The villa has many levels and places to sit, just so relaxing.
All the bedrooms and bathrooms are beautifully done, especially the master bedroom.
You can see a lot of love and effort has gone into this beautiful recent renovation.
Only 5 mins drive to Gaios, which has many wonderful little tavernas.
The pool is only small but didn’t matter as we were out everyday and hired a boat from Gaios.
Excellent stay at Paxos StoneHouse!
The house is well situated at less than 5 minutes by car of Gaios, the biggest port of the island
As its name says, the house is built with old white stones which give it a lot of cache.
It is beautifully decorated.
We enjoyed a lot staying there and we highly recommend staying at Paxos Stonehouse if you come and visit Paxos for a few days or weeks
We loved the house!
It's a lovely place to spend time, both inside and out.
We liked being in such a quiet location and the local walks were lovely.
Easy to get to Gaios and some great local beaches.
Keith was great, super friendly.
Highly recommend.
Paxos StoneHouse was delightful for our one week visit to Paxos
It’s contemporary and sensitive design is well done and it was clean, bright and inviting inside and out; the photos tell a thousand words and are an accurate depiction of the accommodation.
Joanne has thought of all the details to make a short or long stay convenient, her exhaustive instructions and recommendations are great for first time visitors and Keith (who met us) was engaging and provided additional helpful insight.
Added touches which we appreciated included the supply of separate towels for both the shower and the beach, plenty of sitting spaces indoors and out, all the necessary kitchen utensil and white goods, plus Tupperware and a Cool Box (plus freeze blocks) for long days out at the beach or on a boat. WiFi is good, and there are extenders to the bedrooms and poolside. The added bonus was a Nespresso machine; fortunately we had plenty of our own capsules for a portable device (but they can be bought in the supermarket too).
The Stonehouse is a short but conveniently distance from Gaios, close enough to pop in but with the remoteness to feel you have escaped to the country, a car is recommended but walking is possible.
We definitely recommend a stay here and would love to return.
Unashamedly wonderful!
Unashamedly wonderful! We loved every minute we spent in the house and its outdoor terraces and spaces!!
Paxos Bliss!
We had a wonderful return visit to Paxos Stonehouse after discovering it in 2019.
We spent 10 days enjoying the wonderful decor, gorgeous setting and lovely pool.
Jo is a wonderfully helpful owner and together with Adam looked after us beautifully again.
The house is charming and very well equipped and it was a joy to spend another 10 days in this little piece of heaven!
PS - We had the most wonderful time at Paxos StoneHouse again! It feels like our Paxos home from home now and we absolutely love it. We will be back in a heartbeat if we come to Paxos again! Thanks for being such a wonderful host and helping us with many of our travel bookings again. We will certainly keep on recommending your special place to other people. Best wishes, Bridget
Amazing!
In the space of 2 months, I visited Paxos twice and stayed at the StoneHouse both times. Perfect spot for a getaway!
My partner and I spent days at the ocean, took morning dips in the pool, explored the towns on our rented scooter, and had BBQs outside on the terrace.
This house has everything you need if you want to stay in, and it is a 5-minute ride to the town where you can eat local or shop local.
The host is extremely helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend making this spot your preferred accommodation option when visiting Paxos.
Wonderful accommodation with the added benefit of 5* service
This was our first time to Paxos although we have stayed in many Greece islands over the years.
The accommodation was beautifully presented with many little extra comforts that made the stay very enjoyable. The villa is close to Gaios and so makes an ideal base to explore the island.
Joanne who owns the villa was extremely helpful in a range of issues that made our stay so much more pleasurable, from recommending trips, to restaurant selections etc.
The villa itself is in a quiet location which is ideal, whilst still being closely positioned to the main town.
I would definitely recommend this accommodation and Paxos as a destination choice
Great experience!
It was my first time visiting Paxos and while I was there I stayed at the lovely Paxos StoneHouse for the duration of 2 weeks.
The villa is situated in a lovely tranquil part of Gaios in the hills and as soon as you arrive you get a lovely homely feel. The place is beautifully decorated, very spacious with great views and most importantly is immaculate in terms of cleanliness.
The owner Joanne was very warm and welcoming as well as super helpful with any queries or info we required. We had a great experience and there was not one thing we were unhappy with.
We would definitely recommend staying here if you decide to come to Paxos, and we will definitely be back in the future.
Stunning!
Joanne’s home is one of the most stunning places I have ever stayed! It is so tranquil and pure bliss! It has the most incredible views and the sunset was just absolutely gorgeous from the house.
We had lovely BBQ’s in the Evening while the sun set and the sunrise in the morning is just breath taking!
Paxos is such a wonderful island and getting round on a bike and exploring is just amazing from beach bars to restaurants!
It’s a pretty special place!
10/10 you won’t be disappointed in Paxos StoneHouse and the island all together!
Another wonderful holiday at Paxos StoneHouse!
This is our 3rd trip to Paxos StoneHouse in the last few years and once again we had a great time. The house itself is beautifully presented, both internally and externally.
The property is located in a secluded area with sea views, but just 5 mins drive from Gaios, or a 20 mins walk.
The island of Paxos is still lovely with great beaches, beautiful sea, some nice small towns to visit, lovely people and amazing food / tavernas. Antipaxos is also well worth a day trip.
The host, Joanne, helped us a lot planning the trip with some great advice on the crossing from Corfu and things to do. Also, help was always on hand, if needed, during our stay.
All in all, it was an amazing holiday in a perfect location and we'll definitely be back again!
StoneHouse was unique!
Dear Joanne, thank you for such a wonderful experience at your home and for your warm welcome to Pakos. Stone House was unique! and we will keep this week in our memories for ever! It was paradise to us! About your home, it was just perfect, very clean, cosy, beautifully decorated, very inspirational and in a privileged location. All four of us we just loved it! Thanks you and congratulations. We hope to be back, Flavia and Alvaro.
One of the most beautiful villas we have ever stayed in
The Stone House in Paxos was one of the most beautiful villas we have stayed in. The villa is beautifully styled with art and chic finishes. Both the inside and outside spaces were finished to the highest standard with beautiful touches. The Stone House was the best equipped villa we have ever stayed in- it had everything from a milk frother to multiple coffee pots and beautiful bowls. The view from the villa was incredible, albeit the steep and somewhat challenging driveway to the house. Both bedrooms were spacious and had their own bathroom. The studio was gorgeous, perfect for families with teenage/older children. The location of the villa was also excellent: only a short drive to Gaios town centre, which is also walkable. When we arrived, we were greeted and showed around the villa. There was also a bottle of wine in the fridge! You are not far from anywhere in Paxos. Logos is about a 15 minute drive. Joanne was extremely quick to reply and a joy to communicate with. She was also incredibly helpful about finding PCR tests/ lateral flow tests which needed to be taken in order to leave Paxos. We hope to return next summer but for longer! Thank you
Cute and immaculate
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Paxos Stone House, the house is a beautifully decorated traditional stone house, immaculately clean. We didn't spend very much time at the house as we rented a boat each day but it was a great base and very close to Gaios. 1 thing to note would be that the parking is very small although we managed to master this, the alternative which was suggested was to park at the bottom of the hill but in the heat this wouldn't have been ideal so I would bare that in mind when booking a hire car, don't get a large one!
The tans will fade but the memories will last forever......
We had an amazing two week stay at Paxos StoneHouse in September 2020. The house has been carefully and thoughtfully renovated with some original features preserved with lovely modern, personal touches which help to create a sense of identity and homeliness. The house is incredibly well equipped, beautifully designed and furnished and managed to a very high standard offering everything you could possibly need. The location is also great offering space, peace and tranquility with stunning views of the sea whilst Gaios is accessible on foot (quicker doing downhill!) and by car.
Joanne was an exemplary host both before and during our stay with prompt communication, offering some helpful tips and making recommendations (we rented a boat with Paxos boats on two separate days which was the best experience ever) and even keeping us informed of storm Ianos to ensure we had a safe journey by boat back to Corfu. The welcome pack was incredibly comprehensive with a mass of useful tips and recommendations including a 'top 10' of things to do which we happily worked our way through. Adam (Joanne's agent in Paxos) was really friendly and engaging and always available to assist and answer questions.
We had an amazing holiday and will cherish the unbelievable memories we have for some time to come. Thank you Joanne - we genuinely feel honoured to have stayed at your property and would not hesitate to recommend and will hopefully return
We loved our stay at Paxos StoneHouse!
Communication was quick and easy, the house is beautiful and the location was great.
Highly recommend.
This house is gorgeous!
It’s spotlessly clean, stylish & private. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is well equipped. The pool has such a lovely view, and the various outside seating areas are lovely. The house is located about 5 mins from Gaios, so popping into the harbour at night is very quick. The house is beautiful, the bedrooms have AC, and the whole house is light & airy. It’s well equipped, and a perfect couples or family house. Joanne the host is helpful, quick to respond. All of her recommendations were excellent! We had a wonderful week, Paxos is stunning.
Perfect!
We stayed at StoneHouse at the end of August 2020. A well needed break following a hard 6 months. We found the booking and communication with Joanne excellent.
The house itself was better than expected, it was so lovely to be surprised on arrival ... and our expectations be surpassed! The house was spotless. The outside areas are beautiful. The pool is small... but lovely.
We loved everything about StoneHouse and would highly recommend. The house and the outside seating and pool are stunning. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home
We had a fantastic time in Joanne's villa
We had a fantastic time in Joanne’s villa, which was a great base for exploring the beautiful island of Paxos.
Joanne was very responsive, providing us with all the details about the island, car hire, boats to and from Corfu etc. well ahead of our stay. Due to COVID and a sudden cancellation of another trip we had planned, we wanted to bring our Paxos trip forward, and Joanne was incredibly swift in dealing with our request and making the whole process seamless. She also put us in touch with a lovely guy Adam who checked in on us every so often to make sure we were ok, offered to book restaurants for us and gave us the details for a local taxi man who was very reliable and ferried us to and from various locations throughout our stay.
The villa itself is beautiful. Perched on a hill overlooking Gaios with views of the sea, it really ticked all the boxes. A huge kitchen and multiple terraces, perfect for evenings chilling at home. Great showers and nicely decorated. The road up to the house is quite steep and a bit hairy when you drive it for the first time, but we got used to it quickly.
I’d thoroughly recommend Paxos StoneHouse. We had a wonderful holiday and will be back
Charming and comfortable house
We stayed at Paxos Stone house for 5 days. It is a really charming and comfortable house with lots of little outside spaces to sit. Conveniently situated 5 mins drive from Gaios. Paxos is a wonderful unspoilt island crystal clear blue water and charming little fishing villages.
Paxos StoneHouse is a fab place to stay!
Paxos StoneHouse is a fab place to stay on Paxos, with every amenity and convenience that you could wish for. From the many coat hangers (how often do you find there's not enough???) to all of the kitchen tools you need, including multiple coffee makers, plastic containers for left overs and multiple ice trays. Also, a very thoughtful and generous provision of mosquito tabs. The space is chic, clean and comfortable. The beds are comfortable, the multiple bathrooms are great. And then there is the excellent outdoor table for dining and built-in sofa to take in the beautiful view
Perfect gateaway
The Stonehouse was just the perfect gateway for our last days of summer holidays. if you really want to enjoy some of the most peaceful moments,it’s definitely the place to be in Paxos. It’s a perfectly curated and stylish villa with everything you can expect and even more.(pool included) Quiet, clean, fully equipped and Joanne was just the most amazing host ever.
The location is so perfect,by car it’s super close to Gaios (like 5 mins)and with a 15 minutes drive you can reach any other place on the island really easily. You really feel sad when you actually realize that the check out day has come. I recommend to rent a car to fully enjoy the island! Thank you Joanne,we will be back for sure!
The house is beautiful, quiet and well equipped
The house is beautiful, quiet and well well equipped. Paxos is a wonderful Island and you can count on Joanne to help you ! Very nice place to rest.
Was hard to leave!
We recently spent a couple of weeks at the beautiful Paxos Stonehouse and it was hard to leave. It was the perfect setting to unwind and keep cool by the pool. we found the kitchen well appointed and enjoyed being able to make meals at "home" and watch the sunset over that spectacular view! The town of Gaios is an enjoyable walk away - if you have a car be warned the roads are steep and uneven on the way up to the Stonehouse.
We were a party of three and enjoyed the space of having our own bedrooms and bathrooms but a party of six would be equally comfortable.
Thank you Joanne - we will never forget our stay and hope to be back.
Paxos StoneHouse was the perfect base to explore Paxos
StoneHouse was the perfect base to explore Paxos from, and is lovely and cool to relax after a long day exploring with a dip in the plunge pool. Ideally located for Gaios but Loggos and Lakka are within easy reach.
Joanne was an impeccable host and her communication was faultless.
The house is incredibly stylish and comfortable and we highly recommend it.
Paxos StoneHouse was our favourite destination in Greece
Paxos StoneHouse (and Paxos itself) was our favourite destination of this, our first trip to Greece.
Paxos is an incredible little island, unsullied by mass tourism, with perfectly charming old world Greek villages and little beaches. The influence of the Venetian empire is palpable in the architecture and local food.
The house itself is conveniently close to Gaios shops (1.5km) and the port, but tucked away in peaceful olive groves at the end of a cul-de-sac, away from the busy roads and bustle of peak season Paxos.
The island's best beaches are about 15 minutes away by scooter or quad, and it is a short walk to Tripitos Arch, located a few hundred meters behind the house.
Our host Adam could not do enough to help. He sorted out boat rental (exploring Anti-paxos in your own boat is affordable and a must) and quad bike rental, with delivery and collection from the house - extremely convenient.
There is a beautiful plunge pool with an amazing view of the sea to cool off in every time you return home. The house is a new build based on an old ruin, and this is detailed in the accompanying house manual. It is executed in the traditional stone house style that cools the interior of the house during the hot summer. The interior is both stylish and extremely well kitted out with modern appliances, air conditioning, all 3 bedrooms en suite, dishwasher, plenty of towels, good plumbing (rare in Greece) and a lovely quiet garden with outdoor dining table overlooking the sea. We stayed downstairs in the separate studio bedroom / en-suite with bath & shower that occupies the lower level of the house. This was a very special space and the coolest part of the house. There is also a large openplan lounge and kitchen area for mealtimes and relaxing. No TV because that's just going to waste time you could be spending enjoying the house and the island.
Amazing host and beautiful stone house!
What a stay our family had at Paxos stone house. Joanne really could not have been more gracious or helpful with all of the preplanning, and the house was well supplied with linens, kitchen necessities and even a shelf of books to borrow. Home and grounds were immaculate and serene. We loved our stay on Paxos and can’t wait to return to Paxos stone house! Highly recommend.
Amaxing views and very stylish!
The Paxos Stonehouse was a great place to stay. Amazing views, very stylish and so many thoughtful additional touches. Joanne is an outstanding host. She responded very quickly and provided lots of really helpful information, tips and recommendations. It has been an absolute pleasure having Joanne as a host and staying in Paxos Stonehouse.
Can we stay forever???
Can we stay forever??? Completely in love with Paxos and your utterly beautiful home. A completely blissful time. Considering chaining myself to Paxos Stone House on Monday and refusing to leave. We’ve traveled a lot over the years (Worked for British Airways for 10 years) and this really is a highlight!!! Working our way diligently and blissfully through your top 10! Our time at Paxos Stonehouse was idyllic and exceptional. Your beautiful home combined with your amazing help and the fact that you’ve thought of everything there made our holiday simply fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for more. This trip was a big treat for us but if there is any way we can ever come back we’ll be back! Fell in love with Paxos.
WOW, what a stunning property!
The hostess, Joanne has turned a stone ruin into a work of art. This Stonehouse is so beautiful and so tastefully decorated, with all the facilities we needed to make our stay comfortable and delightful. Joanne was incredibly helpful - she went above and beyond, helping to book transport for us and sent us all the information we needed in advance, to make sure we got the most out of our holiday. The setting and views and local surroundings are wonderful, with plenty to do. I highly recommend a boat trip around the two islands, Paxos and Antipaxos, an evening out in Gaios, Loggos or Lakka and a day at Ben's Bar. The clothes in the shops are to die for - I wish I had taken an empty suitcase. We found food and clothes rather pricey though. To quote a plaque on her wall "The tans will fade with time, but the memories will live on forever." Thank you Joanne, for brilliant memories.”
Fantastic traditional stone house
Fantastic traditional stone house with great vista. Rebuilt and restored by the current owner who has unlocked the charm and hidden beauty of this amazing property. Paxos StoneHouse is located a stones throw from Gaios up on the hill side and easily accessible yet feels amazingly secluded and peaceful. All major attractions and beaches are within a short drive. However sitting on the top terrace having a sundowner overlooking the valley and distant sea views is in my opinion the best attraction on the island. A truly peaceful and tranquil setting encouraging one to truly relax and appreciate the finer things.
We had the most wonderful stay!
We had the most wonderful weeks stay at the StoneHouse.
In all ways it exceeded our expectations.
Joanne was the perfect host. Any questions were answered promptly and the numerous suggestions she gave us to enhance our experience (including scooter hire, restaurants, hiking trails and much more) were all spot on.
The StoneHouse is a beautiful property in a quiet location with stunning views and only a five minute scoot into Gaios. Everything you could possibly want or need is provided for a fantastic self catering holiday. We would HIGHLY recommend a visit and would love to return. Thanks Joanne
I am smitten!
The moment I saw Paxos Stonehouse I was smitten. The love and care that has gone into the renovation, of what was once the home of a Greek lady, her goats and pigeons, is outstanding. I love the nods to the house's history - the pigeon holes under the eaves, the beautiful, cool stone, the 1/2 metre thick walls, the old beams extending from the walls and the artefacts scattered around. History has given way to modern touches too, in the thoughtful way the retreat has been designed and curated. The home is fitted with everything a holidaymaker could need and more and all with great style.
It's worth mentioning the serenity of this haven hidden amongst olive groves. The silence is occasionally punctuated by a barking dog or the rooster's crow, reminders that you're not alone on the island.
Enjoy the sea view whilst dining on the deck, lie by the splash pool and soak up the sun, enjoy a game of boules on La Place de la Pétanque, chill in the hammock and practise yoga out on the deck.
If the quiet becomes too much, head into Gaios for a wander around the town, hire a boat for the day and take a leisurely cruise around the island exploring the ports and beaches. Join the locals for coffee and a game of backgammon, take a drive to one of the many restaurants for sundowners - so much to do and see.
I highly recommend Paxos and Paxos Stonehouse. You won't regret a visit to this beautiful place.
What a beautiful house!
What a beautiful house! Everything was just perfect. The house is stylish and very comfortable. Beautiful view. Paxos is a beautiful, relaxing, very special place. We loved discovering the different beaches and taking the boat around the island and to antipaxos.
Most of all Joanne was incredibly helpful. She gave us tonnes of advice both in terms of logistics as well as places to visit, best restaurants etc. She was extremely responsive. We couldn’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to go back!!!
The house is beautiful, quiet and well equipped

Lieu exceptionnel!
Liu exceptionnel. Calme , sérénité.. une vue incroyable sur la mer. La maison est parfaite, beaucoup de petites attentions .. une semaine en famille géniale. Merci de tout cœur pour toutes ces attentions très touchantes.
Exceptional place. Quiet, serenity .. an incredible view of the sea. The house is perfect, many small touches .. a week with great family. Thank you with all my heart for all these very touching attentions.
First to tell you that Paxos and your house have delighted us ... the house is a cozy nest decorated with great taste. Paxos is the most beautiful Greek island we have visited. we intend to return next year to the same period. I get back to you when I get home. again a huge thank you.
La StoneHouse est un enroit de rêve!
La StoneHouse est un endroit de rêve, l'atmosphère est apaisante, la décoration soignée, l'environnement calme et Joanne est tellement attentionnée pour ces hôtes que je ne peux que la recommander.
The StoneHouse is a dream place, the atmosphere is soothing, the decor, the quiet environment and Joanne is so attentive to these guests that I can only recommend it.
Beautiful contemporary home on Paxos!
Paxos StoneHouse is a lovingly restored home and very well managed. You can tell that a lot of love and thought has been put into making this a wonderful place to stay. The many areas in the outside allowed our family of five to enjoy all pockets throughout the day. The garden is well kept and the plunge pool, a perfect place to end a day of visiting the island of Paxos. Inside, it has all modern amenities and is fully equipped to have a stress free holiday. It is a contemporary home designed and decorated with the perfect amount of charm and authenticity.
Communication with Joanna was flawless. Finally, I’d say that our holiday was made the more special because of this house.
We truly loved our stay and hope to be back next time!
We absolutely loved Paxos StoneHouse!
It was very comfortable and spacious, clean and well equipped with very well planned spaces both inside and out.
It was the nicest Airbnb that we have stayed in.
It is very suitable for a family with slightly older children as well as a group of adults.
There was lots of interesting information about the island which was really useful as it was our first trip. It is in a quiet spot but as Paxos is a very small island everything is very accessible and most restaurants and shops and beaches are no more than 20 mins away.
The plunge pool was great as it was very hot!!!
Thank you Joanne! Can we book again next year?!!!
Beautiful house in great location!
Beautiful house in a great location just outside of the main town of Gaios. The house itself is spacious and nicely decorated with all the amenities you could need. The outdoor space is quite large which is great for entertaining and relaxing by the pool.
We had a car to get around which made it easy to get to the other towns (Lakka & Loggos) as well as other parts of the island.
I would highly recommend the Stone House to both families and couples wishing to have a relaxing getaway on this beautiful island.
Second visit, a stunning little home!
My second visti to Paxos and Paxos StoneHouse and the same as last time, this stay at Paxos Stone House was one to remember. Host took time ensuring all guests felt welcome by the dècore, cleanliness and atmosphere of the house. Truly a stunning little home! I DEFINITELY will be back!
What a find!
What a find ... stunning location with old stone walking paths to the coast just seconds away. Clean and superbly equipped. Having breakfast on the terrace with views of the mainland is such a pleasure.
Emily checked in on us regularly to see if we needed anything - superb service, fantastic new villa and a fantastic island!
Thank you Jo for allowing us to share your little piece of paradise.
You would be crazy not to visit Paxos
I am feeling technically challenged as this is the 3rd time I have lost connection so lets hope I can recall all the things I wanted to mention about Paxos Stonehouse!
I had a quick look at the guidelines regarding writing a review and will try and follow this however before I start, the most important feedback I can give is that you will be "crazy" not to book this little piece of heaven.
Paxos StoneHouse is a very special place - as soon as you arrive you can feel and see that a-lot of effort and thought has gone into this home. The space, decor and even location is just perfect.
We were a family of 6 and the space was surprisingly bigger than what we had imagined and just perfect.
The house is located in a quiet, tranquil spot between olive groves with a spectacular view of the sea, but yet close enough to walk into (a lift back is good unless you don't mind the uphill back) Gaios for an early morning coffee – something I am sorry I did not do more often. The house itself has a very comfy feel about it and offers one everything you will need for your stay – in fact there was nothing more that we felt was needed (except maybe another big pot for cooking tons of pasta for the family!). The décor is lovely and the house offers a great outdoor area to enjoy lazy afternoons and a large outdoor table to enjoy all your meals.
I would have loved to have stayed longer than the 8 days, so that we could have lazed around the pool area and just had more time to enjoy the house and its space.
Joanne was amazing. Her communication was faultless and her tips and guidance valuable. She managed to book our ferry tickets and arrange car & scooter hire which is great considering we had not given it much thought at the time we booked. Paxos StoneHouse, truly is a little piece of heaven, and YES, we are definitely going back to Gaios and Paxos StoneHouse, its just a question of when. It’s the sort of place that makes you want to find an a little run-down house of your own and do just what Joanne has done to her home… restore it with a little care and a lot of love!
Thank you Joanne, for sharing this special place with us and for introducing us to “your” island
Fabulous house with great view and amenities
Beautiful unspoilt and quiet location within walking distance of tavernas and coastline. Although we found having a car really useful to go further afield.
We had the most wonderful stay and made use of all the amenities including the fantastically well kitted out kitchen which made cooking easy, and dining out al fresco on the open terrace. The plunge pool was great for cooling down after a days sightseeing.
Paxos is a lovely island with great eateries and loads to do and see. We will definitely be back.
A jewel hideaway on beautiful Paxos
Set back into the hill with beautiful views over the bay .... Easy walk into Gaios itself where there are beautiful shops, alleyways, restaurants, bars, supermarket. Ideal base for hiring a car or buggy to visit the other areas on the island and discover the beautiful beaches. If possible hire a boat and sail across to Anti Paxos - beautiful day at sea. The house is beautiful with plenty of sun and shade.
Joanne - the owner - knows the island well and had some great suggestions of how best to spend our time. Everything you need is in the house to have a beautiful stay away from home. The decks allow you to follow the sun and it was wonderful to eat al fresco and watch the sun go down...will definitely return with my family
A wonderful place to stay
An amazing authentic, greek stone property that has been renovated to a high standard. I think one of the best places you could choose for your stay on the island, it's peaceful has magnificent views and fabulous walks right on the doorstep.
It's only a short drive into Gaios, the closest town and the fabulous island beaches are also within easy reach. We'll definitely visit again!
Beautiful house on an amazing island
The house is located in a tranquil setting among olive groves with amazing views towards the sea and mainland beyond. It was spotlessly clean and has a great layout with a large kitchen / family room and bedrooms just off this area. The garden was lovely too, very peaceful.
Paxos itself is a beautiful island with some lovely beaches, great tavernas and my wife & I really enjoyed our stay.It is not too big, the roads are quiet and safe and three main harbour towns are lovely spots for shops and eating. Definitely recommend the Stone House and Paxos for an amazing holiday.
Thank you Joanne for a great stay.
Paxos StoneHouse is a home away from home
It’s tastefully furnished, with decor creating the perfect island holiday feel, making for a more than luxuriously comfortable & relaxing stay. Offering all the amenities you could ask for, with consideration given to the smallest of detail.
The StoneHouse is located close to the town, but far enough away in a peaceful spot tucked on top of a hill, with a magnificent view. Antipaxos is also a short boat ride away (definitely worth a visit if you can tear yourself away from the Stonehouse). The pool and entertainment area outdoors are fabulous.
We didn’t want to leave, and without question will return to experience it all over again.
We visited in August and the weather was glorious.
Highly recommend Paxos Island and the Paxos Stonehouse is an easy choice.
Best of both worlds
We were looking for the best of both worlds on our visit to Paxos. A great location near enough to a cosmopolitan resort, high standard of living accommodation, views and the ability to travel and explore. Paxos Stonehouse ticked every one of our boxes. Everything that you could possibly need for a self catering holiday is provided, it was immaculately clean and the beds and pillows and furnishings gave us excellent comfort.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and we will be returning again. 5 stars++
Paxos StoneHouse is a wonderful oasis in a busy world
Paxos StoneHouse is a very tasteful, comfortable home that is ideal for both families and individuals. It is in a quiet, tranquil setting but in walking distance of Gaios, where there is an abundance of restaurants and shops (an excellent fresh fish stall).
The island of Paxos is unspoilt by commercialism but has beautiful beach bars/restaurants serving local cuisine.
I would recommend hiring a small motor boat to explore the coastline.
A little slice of heaven
Deep in the olive trees with a high view across the azure seas, the StoneHouse is exquisite.
Beautifully appointed blending modern convenience with traditional feel.
I just love it. Hurrah
Love this island! Love this house!
Paxos Stone House is located high up on the hillside just outside the main port town of Gaios overlooking the ocean and Greek mainland. It's beautifully tranquil but still really close and easy to get down into Gaios for shopping, cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. It's a 5 minute scooter ride up or down and it took us about 30 minutes to stroll down for coffee in the morning. The house is also perfectly located for easy strolls from the door; in the midst of olives groves you can wander for hours around the tracks and along the cliff tops. Tripitos Arch, which is so, so beautiful, is an easy 20 minute walk - from here you can see across the ocean to Anti-Paxos and watch the sun set.
The house had all we were looking for. 3 ensuite bedrooms, a spacious open plan lounge / dining / kitchen and fully equipped with everything you need including a dishwasher and washing machine...perfect!
There are outdoor terraces on both sides so there is always an option for sitting in the sun or shade. As the house is on a hillside there are multiple tiered terraces both sides; dining area, relaxation and pool / loungers.
Parking was available off the road.
Paxos is an incredibly beautiful island full of warm and friendly people. We visited many of the beautiful pebble beaches as well as the islands only sandy beach at Mongenessi - here we also discovered Carnayo Gold Beach Lounge which became a fast favourite! We also loved Cafe Kalimera [Daytime cafe and night time bar with great music until the early hours!], Ben's Beach Bar and Roxy Bar in Lakka. A nice blend of tranquil beaches, authentic tavernas and a little evening entertainment.
I loved Paxos and Paxos StoneHouse; we've already booked to go back again next June!
A little bit of paradise
Paxos is a small island consisting of three main towns; all easily accessible by car, scooter, local bus service. Each as vibey, restaurants catering for your culinary delights plus there are many beaches and bars dotted round the island.
Paxos Stonehouse is a delight to stay in; with every amenity available for your comfort. It sits in a beautiful setting with sea and mainland views, with pool for cooling down in the evening.
A great destination you will want to return to again and again.
Beauty and serenity
Paxos stone house is located in a stunning area close enough to walk to the local town.It is absolute paradise with ultimate comfort and privacy. The stone house is designed perfectly, modern and clean.
The locals are so friendly and always willing to help.
My friend and I spent 10 days exploring the island and just marveling at all the natural beauty the island had to offer.
I will definitely be going back. Money well spent!
